Two girls get inspired by a blind person to keep the environment clean after he picks up the trashed cool drink tin which his walking stick encounters. The ad film, ‘Swachh Mann Swachh Bharat’ with this fresh concept and a message, “Agar jag gaya har insaan, tab swachh rahega Hindustan. Jagruth Jantha.. Swachh Bharat,” by the students of Namma Mysuru has received the applause and acclamations of many.
The film which is 1.45 minutes in length has won the second prize at the Carte Blanche National Film Festival at Garden City College in Bengaluru held on Oct. 27 and 28. It is the result of hard work put in by five electronic media students of EMMRC, University of Mysore and two journalism students of Yuvaraja College.
Speaking about the film, Director Manjeet said, “The whole concept was to inspire the audience by showing them that cleanliness has to come from within and not just outside.” He also said, “The film was actually shot as an experiment to test our skills in film production” and added, “We are happy with the result and confident enough for our future projects.”
“Shooting was scheduled for 3 hours and the post production works continued for the next 3-4 days. We were ready with the final DVD within a week’s time,” said Laxmikanth, the editor of the ad film.

Sheethal, who has acted in the film said, “It was a great experience working in this project. Especially, we all are freshers and this is our first attempt which has brought laurel to our hard work in the fest.” And added, “It felt good when the crowd applauded during the screening of the ad film in the fest.”
Shreyas Devanoor and Shridhar Gowda, both studying Bachelors of Journalism in Yuvaraja’s are the ones behind such great cinematography. Shreyas who had an interest in photography from his early age said, “It was the right time to explore my cinematography skills and challenge myself to become a cinematographer from a photographer.”
According to Ipsha Tiwari, a co-actress of the film, the whole credit belongs to Manjeet for his concept. But Manjeet claims that the project was a team effort and the credit has to be given to the whole team.
They also said that their professors felt very happy upon bagging the second prize in the fest and congratulated them on putting in their highest possible efforts even though they were not provided with much facilities by the Department.
The team hoped that it would be great if the Department took concern in availing more facilities and opportunities for its students which would be of great help for them to explore more in the electronics media field practically.
The ad film is available on many social network websites and also in YouTube for people to view, share and spread the message of cleanliness. The team members are looking forward to send a copy of the DVD to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi supporting the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ campaign.
